Rina Miraglia has over 25 years experience teaching Italian and Spanish. In 2000, she developed the Italian foreign language program for Ho-Ho-Kus Public School (K-8) by applying for grants and spearheading a new curriculum that aligned with the High School program. She continues to consult and deliver presentations around innovative teaching concepts, including incorporating new methodology, infusing technology and interdisciplinary lessons. Rina also serve as an editor and translator for Studio Arcobaleno’s Italian textbooks and workbooks that are used in American schools, and their website.
Rina has earned awards and recognition for her teaching style, including New Jersey Best Practice in 2005 and the inaugural Coccia Inserra Award for Excellence and Innovation in 2010. She organizes educational tours to Italy for her students that reinforce aspects of her curriculum and highlight aspects of the Italian culture. Over the past 10 years more than 300 students and their families have participated in tours. She currently collaborates with Studio Arcobaleno to handle the logistical aspects of these educational tours for other schools.
